 Where can I replace torn Indian rupee notes?

If you have notes of Rupees 500 (Five hundred rupees notes) and 1000 (One thousand Notes) you can replace it with any bank with the license from the Reserve Bank of India can replace the old note and issue you a new one




What are dates to replace notes of 500 and 1000 currency notes? 

Anyone can replace notes from 10 November 2016 to 30 December 2016. This all due to Prime minister is on effort to to stop spreading of counterfeits (Black money), which can also help to stop terror attacks across Pakistan, Bangladesh, and many other bordering regions, so government has decided to scrap the notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 immediately effect.
The reserve bank of india already ready to cleared the proposal of new Rs 500 and Rs 2000 notes apart from this there will be no change in like – cheque, Demand Draft, Payment via Credit or Debit Cards.
How to replace Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes


  • Exchange Rs 500 or Rs 1000 notes with the new one at your bank or post office from November 10 to December 30.
  • While exchanging individual must carry their Adhaar card and PAN card with them
  • Please note that after December 30, Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes can be exchanged at the Reserve bank of India with a declaration.
  • Now only Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes can be used at hospitals and medical stores.
  • Individuals can also use Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes while traveling and buying tickets at railways.
  •  By the above mentioned procedure anyone can replace the old notes of 500 INR (Five hundred rupees notes) and 1000 INR (One thousand Notes)
